I started Starlet Heals to combine my background in social work and my lifelong love for gaming.As a child, gaming was more than an escape for me. It was a way to propel myself forward. I used what I learned from fiction to enhance myself in the real world. The characters I connected with, challenges I overcame, and the plots I experienced lit up my world.The passion and drive I experienced has helped me throughout life. Without games I would have struggled to navigate the world and push through hardships.I believe many people were touched by games and connected deeply with characters. Furthermore, I believe the skills we use in games (emotional regulation, communication, agency, and more) help us thrive in real life.My goal is create an accepting space where gaming and mental health bring people together and inspire them to be their best selves.
